I wanted you to get that headset too! I don't like the sound of my voice.
Here's what I made:
(There was a fancier background and an additional image for my actual submission, but I was NOT happy with the quality of the pictures. To make matters worse, Mocha wasn't in the mood to be cute for the camera! Oh well, I tried!)

I looked at tzu's deviant art previously and wow, just wow, i mean how can you beat that costume I thought? The logistics of making a costume like that without it falling apart must have been really hard. And whoever was the photographer did a really nice job.

Glad to see so many nolani artists among the winners, though many more - featured in the official contest or not - have some workshop prizes to look forward to.
Big congrats to the Charr Effigy in first place, definitely the most original piece I've seen to date. Excellent work.

Based on how the bigger winners of previous competitions have all been costume creators, I am pleased to see that the contest was split this time between costume entries and non-costume entries.
That Charr Effigy was crazy. I would be a lot more interested though in a video of said Effigy than just a few still shots.

Ah, I'm glad some other people got the reference. Thank you, glad you like it. You can actually see the picture in its actual size here: http://changinghand.deviantart.com/#/d30x763
Looks like they had to significantly reduce the size and quality of it because it's such a massive space hog.
And congrats to all the other winners out there. I think the submissions this year are the best so far.
And 9 of the winners/honorables are from Guru? AWWWWWWWRIIIIIIIGGGHHHHTTTTTT

Also, I have to say, fantastic work on that costume. I'm making sure to point it out to all my friends and family who are seeing my entry.
Also, super congrats to all who entered and all who placed. Really great showing this year from around the world.

I'm sooooooo happy!
Gongrats to all the other winners!!
And for the non winners DO keep trying!!
Wintersday is coming so get to work!
Note to ArenaNet:
Since writing is an artform please think of adding an additional award for the writers among us.
There are at least three great halloween stories in the workshop which get overshadowed real soon with the hundreds of graphic submissions.

Didn't expect anything as well, but I will admit that the new quests for this year made this even more amusing to me.

I already said it in the Workshop thread, but big congrats to those who won! I'm especially glad to see some of my friends placing. Good job guys, you totally deserved it
I would just like to mention and say congrats to those who didn't place too. I know how you feel exactly, 3 times now.
Please remember, the fact that you did not place in the official contest does not reflect on the quality of your work. Many great pieces of art were still left over.
I'd like to encourage all of you to continue submitting artwork for consideration
in the Wintersday Contest. It's always a treat to see such amazing pieces put forward.
I look forward to see lots of you in the Wintersday Workshop, and again, good job!
